One Quick Story
When I first stepped back into the journey of taking my writing seriously, I had no idea where to start. A friend suggested I start small. Really small. As in flash fiction small. The challenge was a picture prompt and a story under 250 words. I, being me, decided to tell the stories in exactly 250 words. I found joy in my new flashes of fiction. It brought me refreshing challenges that really put my creativity (and my editing) to work! Now I share them with you.
Let Me Tell You a Story
One girl with many emotions. One overdeveloped sense of sarcasm. One heart with many stories. One tiny flash of imagination just for you.
Lilly takes a step into a journey she never planned for, leaving the chains of an old life behind.
Diya could not go along with a plan she had no part in planning. That was not who she was. It was time to find out who she could be.
What are the grains of truth that separate the life you are living from the one you could have? Natalie is about to find out.
Every choice carries the weight of the future upon it. Even the smallest of decisions today will be the impact of tomorrow.
There are people in this world that do unspeakable things, stealing the voices of those who can never forget. We must keep shining light for those who can\’t speak.
Go ahead. Take the chance. Fall in love with the unexpected and find yourself in the process. That is what Elenora did.
How long is too long to wait for forever, especially when time has not been a friend in the past?
Sometimes life gives you no choice but to roll the dice. He had run out of options battling a legacy he could not change.
We look for hope in the world around us and cherish it gently when we do find it, for it is so easy to lose.
While most of my stories in flash fiction are, well, fiction, this one actually has some element of truth. It took forever to clean that up.
She never thought she would find a connection to her, but it was right there in her family tree. For this moment, she was where she belonged.
He had waited a long time for this. They had both needed rescue and now they had both found a home—in each other.
Everything just seems harder when we are grieving. It takes being surrounded by those who can tell us the truth even when we are hurting.
He had to hurry. It wouldn’t be long before the next one sounded its chimed warning through the great hall.
