“You don’t fully understand what your words did to me and the negative impact it had on my self-confidence. You didn’t just break up with me. You annihilated me. For years.”

~ Agent Lynda Culter in Word of Honor

Have you ever felt that? Have you ever been on the painful side of a broken promise? Have you ever dropped your head in sorrow and felt the sting of shattered trust when someone did not keep their word? The impact of a word not kept can leave unforgettable wounds. As humans, we build walls and unspoken goals to surround ourselves only with people who will do what they say they will do. Even within the books we read, we want to be encircled in the fulfillment of a promised story. We want the author to deliver what was assured. You will find that kind of comfort in the books of the Love and Honor series.

Because author Hallee Bridgeman keeps her word.

If you follow the work of this author, it won’t be long before you will come across her mission statement, which is the first thing she displays on the “About Hallee” page of her website. Within those words, she succinctly describes her mission as a writer. “To prayerfully craft stories as modern-day parables to uplift fellow believers and minister to seekers in our fallen world.” Upon reading this recent release from her Love and Honor series titled Word of Honor, I can honestly say that she kept her word and her mission.

This excellently crafted story takes you directly into the action. By the end of the first chapter, you have connected heart-to-heart with FBI Special Agent Lynda Culter, experiencing her joy and heartbreak as if you were standing there. From that point on, you are not just reading the story, you are in the story beside her.

Soon after you are reunited with an old friend from Hallee’s second book in the Love and Honor Series, Honor Bound, when you turn the page to see Special Forces Weapons Specialist Bill Sanders. But we are not the only ones familiar with Bill Sanders—he is also a familiar face to Agent Lynda Culter. As Agent Culter pursues a terrorist threat, she is suddenly stopped in her tracks when she finds herself face to face with the man who broke her and her heart years ago. Now they have to work together to save thousands of people from dying at the hands of an unknown enemy.

The dynamics of this story lead you through the real human doubts we all face about ourselves and others. Can I trust him? Can I trust myself? Will I trust God with it all? As we follow Bill and Lynda through an intense undercover operation, the story keeps you on the edge of your seat turning page after page in anticipation. Will Lynda forgive him? Will Bill forgive himself? Will Bill find the strength to overcome and keep his word to his God, his team, and the love of his life all while trying to protect the lives of people he doesn’t even know?

Grab a copy of Word of Honor today and watch as Hallee Bridgeman keeps her word to uplift her readers as you wait to find out if this time, Bill will keep his.

You Can’t Outrun the Past

FBI Special Agent Lynda Culter is investigating an ecoterrorist organization in the Alaskan wilderness when her partner is taken captive and murdered before her very eyes. The only person who can identify the key players, Lynda gets assigned to take part in a joint operation in Istanbul to take the organization down.

As a woman in a Muslim country, she’ll find it much easier to move around undetected with a fake husband. Unfortunately for her, the man assigned to play the role is none other than US Army weapons specialist Bill Sanders–the man who crushed her heart into a million pieces back in college.

With a cargo bay’s worth of hurt and baggage between them, these two consummate professionals must play their parts perfectly if they hope to stop those responsible for bombing oil pipelines, killing innocent civilians, and threatening to destabilize the oil markets. But love long buried has a way of resurfacing at the most inopportune times–and protecting Lynda has become Bill’s primary focus.
